How to Make It

Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional ingredients:
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ cup raisins or other dried fruit
  • ¼ cup diced apples or other fresh fruit
  • 1 tablespoon of seeds, nuts or peanut butter

Preparation

In a large bowl combine oats, milk and honey or brown sugar. Mix well.

Add cinnamon, vanilla and any optional ingredients.

Transfer to a container with a lid and set in fridge overnight.

Enjoy this dish cold or warm it up in the microwave for one minute.
Recipe Tips

Do not give honey to a child under one year of age. To make allergen friendly, swap out the ingredients to fit your family’s needs. For example, use soy milk for a dairy-free option.
